Organise sources with labels

Use labels to decide which AI agent answers from which knowledge.

1 min read

A label is a word you choose, such as “billing” or “onboarding”. Labels decide which AI agent may answer from which source, so one workspace can run several AI agents from one knowledge base.

  • A source with no labels can be used by every AI agent. This suits general help content.
  • A source with labels can only be used by AI agents given one of those labels.
  • An AI agent with no labels reads all your knowledge.

Before you start

Every planNeeds: Sources: Write

Add Labels when you create or edit a source. Pick from the suggestions rather than typing a new one: “Billing” and “billing” are two different labels.

To label many sources at once:

  1. Go to Knowledge and tick the sources.

  2. Click Labels, choose Add labels or Remove labels, and pick the labels.

  3. Click the button to apply them.

  1. Go to AI Agents and open the AI agent.
  2. On the Content tab, under Knowledge, use Add knowledge label to pick the same labels.
  3. Click Save changes.

A label marked “(no sources)” isn’t on any active source, so the AI agent finds nothing for it. See Create an AI agent.

There’s no separate list of labels to manage. A label disappears when no source carries it.
