Send a WhatsApp template from a conversation
Restart a WhatsApp conversation after 24 hours of silence with a pre-approved template.
WhatsApp lets you send normal replies only within 24 hours of the customer’s last message. After that, you can only send a template that Meta has approved. See WhatsApp’s 24-hour reply window.
Before you start
- At least one approved WhatsApp template.
When the window closes, the reply box says so and shows a Send template button. In the last six hours it counts down the time left.
-
Open the WhatsApp conversation.
-
Click Send template, or Send template… in the reply toolbar.
-
In Send WhatsApp template, pick a Template.
-
Fill in each variable. Each value replaces one numbered placeholder in the message.
-
Check the Preview, then click Send template.
You should see the template message in the conversation.
Meta charges for template messages, and the message also uses wallet credit in Prativani. If the wallet is low, the dialog asks you to add funds first. See What uses credits.
