Turn on two-step verification

Protect your account with a code from an authenticator app, email or text message.

2 min read

Two-step verification asks for a 6-digit code after your password, so a stolen password alone can’t open your account.

You can choose:

  • Authenticator App: an app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, makes the codes. This is the safest choice.
  • Email OTP: the code is emailed to you.
  • SMS OTP: the code is texted to you. This appears only if your profile has a mobile number.
  1. Open your name at the top right and choose Security & 2FA.

  2. Next to Authenticator App, click Enable.

  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can’t scan it, type the key shown under it into the app instead.

  4. Type the 6-digit code from the app and click Verify & Enable.

  5. Save your backup codes. Click Copy all or Download, keep them somewhere safe, then click I’ve saved my codes.

You should see ”Two-factor authentication is enabled”, with the method turned on.
  1. Next to Email OTP or SMS OTP, click Enable.
  2. Type the code we send you and click Verify & Enable.

Turn on as many methods as you like. Click Make preferred on the one you want asked for first. When signing in, click Use another method to switch.

Click Disable next to a method to turn it off. To turn everything off, click Disable all 2FA and confirm. Your account is then protected by your password alone.

If your workspace requires two-step verification for everyone, you must keep at least one method on.

The next time you sign in, Prativani asks for your code. Codes sent by email or text expire after five minutes.

If you lose your phone, sign in with a backup code. See Use backup codes.
