Keep the number your customers already know. Your calls keep working with your current carrier until the move is complete.

Before you start

Starter, Pro and Business plansNeeds: Phone numbers: Write
  • The number is in the US or Canada.
  • A recent bill from your current carrier that shows the number.
  • Your account details with the carrier, exactly as they appear on the bill.
  1. Go to SettingsChannelsPhone and click Bring a number you own.

  2. Under Numbers to bring over, type each number with its country code, one per line, such as +15551234567. Click Check numbers, then Continue.

US local numbers go in one request, and toll-free and Canadian numbers in another.

  3. Fill in your account with the current carrier: Account holder name, Account number, Account phone number, Account type, and the transfer PIN if your carrier gave you one.

  4. Fill in the Service address on your account.

  5. Under Authorisation, type the Authorised name, which must match your business’s legal name, and the Authorised email of a member of your workspace. That person receives a form to sign.

  6. Choose a Transfer date, at least 7 days away.

  7. Upload A recent bill. If Prativani hasn’t checked your business yet, also upload your Business registration document.

  8. Click Submit transfer.

You should see ”Port request submitted.” and the request under Number transfers.

The authorised person signs the form sent to their email. The request then shows In progress until the carrier moves the number, and then Completed. Meanwhile, the number appears in your Numbers list as Transferring, and you can already choose who answers it.

If a request shows Action required, open it to see what to fix. You can have up to 3 requests open at a time.

To cancel, click Cancel on the request and confirm Cancel transfer. The number stays with your current carrier. You can’t cancel in the last 72 hours before the transfer date.
