Add a phone number

Buy a phone number in Prativani and customers can call it. Calls are answered by your call flow: an AI agent, a phone menu or your team.

Before you start

• You’re the workspace owner. Only the owner can see and buy phone numbers.
• Enough money in your wallet for the first month’s rent.

Choose a country

1. Go to Settings›Channels›Phone and click Add a number.

2. Pick a country. Countries are in two groups:

   • Ready now: no paperwork. You pick a number straight away.
   • Needs approval first: the carrier reviews your business first, usually in 1–3 business days.

   Click a country to see what it asks for. If it offers more than one kind of number, choose Local, Mobile or Toll-free.

3. Check the prices in the summary: Monthly rent, Incoming calls per minute, and calls within that country per minute. Then click the button under them, such as “Start with Germany”.

Countries that need approval

The steps ask for what the carrier needs: your business details, an address in that country if it asks for one, and documents such as a registration certificate. Match your details exactly to your documents. Documents can be PDF, JPG or PNG files.

Click Submit for review. You don’t need to wait on the page: Prativani emails you when the carrier decides, and then you come back and pick your number. See Verify your business for a country.

Pick and buy your number

1. Under Pick your number, choose a number from the list. For some countries you can type a Town or city first. Click Search again for a fresh list.

2. Check what’s Due today: the first month’s rent, taken from your wallet.

3. Click Buy this number.

   You should see

   “Your number is ready.” and the number in your Numbers list, marked Active.

The number works straight away. Your first number becomes your default.

Which calls a number can make

Every number receives calls. A number places calls only to its own country, except US and Canadian numbers, which can be called from any of your numbers. To call customers in another country, add a number there.

Some numbers show Receives calls only: most toll-free numbers outside the US and Canada can’t place calls.

What happens next

• Choose who answers. See Choose which AI agent answers each channel.
• Take and make calls in your browser. See Answer and make calls.
• Manage your numbers: rename, set the default, change the call flow or release a number.

Costs

Rent is taken from your wallet each month, on the day you bought the number. Incoming and outgoing calls are charged per minute from your wallet.

If your wallet can’t cover the rent, the number keeps working for a short grace period, then it’s released and can’t be recovered. If your wallet runs low, incoming calls can’t be answered until you add funds. See What uses credits.

Common problems

”To add more phone numbers, contact support.”

Your workspace has reached its number limit. Contact Prativani support to raise it.

”That number was just taken”

Someone else bought it first. Your wallet was refunded. Pick another number.
