Test your AI agent privately before you set it live. Tests never create real conversations, and they’re free.

Before you start

Every planNeeds: AI agents: Write

1. Go to AI Agents, open the AI agent and open the Test tab.

2. Type a question a customer would ask, and click Send.

   You should see the AI agent’s answer, as a customer would get it.

3. Click Why this answer? under the reply to see:

   • Citations: the knowledge the answer quotes.
   • Retrieved knowledge: what the AI agent found and how closely each piece matched.
   • Tool calls: any actions it took, such as looking up an order.

4. Click Clear to start a new test conversation.

Test actions safely

If your AI agent has actions that call your own systems, they’re only pretended during a test: marked as simulated, with nothing sent. To call your real systems, turn on Run webhooks for real. Those calls can change real data.

If an answer is wrong

• It found nothing: add the missing knowledge. See Knowledge sources at a glance.
• It found the wrong knowledge: check the labels under Knowledge on the Content tab.
• It answered in the wrong way: change the Persona instructions on the Content tab.

Then ask again.
